The brand was initially set up back in 2008 and was created as being a brand that would serve mainly small businesses and residences in the most urban and suburban areas of the US.
One of the main services that is offered to United States households and small businesses under the U-verse brand is internet access. AT&T’s U-verse brand actually uses a fibre to node communications network which allows them to supply millions of people across America with high speed internet access. This type of network means that the fibre optic cables are used to boxes that are located within each neighbourhood; after which the stand telephone wires are used.
Another service that is available under the AT&T U-verse brand is television services. There is a product named Uverse TV which is basically a set top box that has been designed for a number of uses including video on demand and much more. The set top box actually uses an IP multicast model which means that the clients do not need a traditional tuner. The U-verse TV also offers digital TV services.
There are also a number of phone services available under the U-verse brand from AT&T including mainly home phone services. There are a number of bundles available too which contain all of the services from the U-verse brand. U-verse is available to 20 million people across America.
